What Amazon’s Positive Results Mean to Other Ecommerce Sites

Amazon. com proved to be a smart bet in the fourth quarter. When whole Wold is busy with recession and  most of the shopping sites cursing for bad fourth quarter, Amazon has swept all the good results. Amazon Kindle has a big role on this numbers.
Question comes in mind why this is not happen for other shopping sites.
After thinking through deeply, I think following are the reasons which differentiate Amazon from others. 1. Usability: Amazon has been continuously working on the usability of the site and improved a lot and in fact anyone likes while interacting with Amazon site today; you donot feel bore while accessing the site. 2. Content : Amazon has right balance with the contents shows in every page. The content is sufficient enough and does not confuse the user and which is one of the biggest drawback in most of the shopping sites. 3. Artificial Intelligence: Amazon has gone in great extend to use users data to help future users. This helps users to make buying decision faster. I think this one of the biggest disadvantage in most of the existing shopping sites. Amazon gone beyond the comparing shopping and A. I is one of the greatest strength of Amazon. I have seen few more new start-ups who has taken steps to go beyond compare shopping and I like to introduce www. shopnics. com, a site gone beyond comparison shopping. 4. Trust: Trust does not create in a day, this need to happen from day to day basis. Amazon build this trust with the users in all angle from its return policy to shipping on time.
So bottom line is that Amazon’s fourth quarter does not come by luck, its because of their day to day strategies towards delivering a next generation shopping site.
